Partheneon Bioregents manufacturers and sells degradation resistant proteins in the Homeobox (Hox) family.  Hox proteins contain a conserved homeodomain.  Parthenon Bioreagents has discovered a patented set of point mutations (Hox+) that prevent ubiquination of the protein, thereby increasing the effective intracellular dose and duration of the protein without compromising bioactivity.  Parthenon proteins also possess a cell penetrating peptide motif based on HIV-TAT for generalized uptake.

Cost savings.

Convenience.

New studies.

Depending on cell type, Hox+ protein intracellular halflife is ~5X greater than wildtype proteins.  This higher effective dose drastically reduces the amount of protein required to achieve bioactivity.
The short natural half-life of wildtype Hox proteins often requires frequent dosing, potentially every few hours.  Hox+ proteins can simplify experimental protocols to avoid the need for 24/7 staff availability and to decongest lab logistics.
Laboratories studying Hox genes often work with knock outs (KOs) or enforced overexpression.  Proteins can enable  controlled gain-of-function experiments.
